Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Cross Point Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. Cross Point Church is a member of the General Association of General Baptists.
God
There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
THE BIBLE
We believe the Holy Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are the inspired and infallible Word of God and serve as the ultimate and trustworthy guide for Christian faith and daily living.
HUMANITY
We believe God created humanity in His own image, designed to bring Him glory through obedience and relationship. Through disobedience, humanity fell into sin and is unable to save itself apart from God’s grace. We believe infants are covered by God’s covenant of grace, and that all people become morally accountable to God when they reach an age of responsibility.
SALVATION
We believe salvation, through regeneration, justification, sanctification, and redemption, has been made available to all through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ: His life, death, resurrection, ascension, and ongoing intercession. Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
ASSURANCE AND ENDURANCE
We believe that those who abide in Christ can have assurance of their salvation. We also believe that God has given humanity freedom of choice, and that a person may choose to turn away from God and forfeit that salvation.
FOLLOWING JESUS
We believe followers of Jesus are called to live faithfully by serving through the local church, praying diligently, sharing their faith, practicing grace and tolerance, showing loving kindness, giving generously as God provides, and living in a way that brings glory to God.
THE CHURCH
We believe the universal Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all believers and under the authority of Christ as its Head. We believe a local church is a fellowship of believers who voluntarily gather for worship, spiritual growth, fellowship, and service as part of Christ’s body.
Ordinances
We believe baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances instituted by Christ for believers. We believe baptism by immersion is the biblical mode, and that participation in the Lord’s Supper is open to all Christians.
We recognize that some churches practice foot washing as an ordinance. We believe this practice should be left to individual conviction and should not be a barrier to fellowship (John 13; 1 Timothy 5:10).

THE LOIRD'S DAY
We believe in honoring the Lord’s Day, the first day of the week, as a time set apart for worship, witness, and service to others. We believe work on Sunday should be limited to acts of necessity or mercy.
Last Things
We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ, the bodily resurrection of the dead, and the final judgment of all humanity by Christ. We believe the righteous will receive eternal life in Heaven, and the unrighteous will face eternal separation from God.
