The Generations Project

Are you looking for a way to expand your influence and further your reach to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ–a missionary venture?  Join us in support of The Generations Project, an initiative of Crosspoint Church of Ava Missouri.

Matthew 9:37 “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.”

What is The Generations Project Initiative

The Ozark Mountains of Southern Missouri is a mission field within our own borders–”a harvest that is plentiful.”  The Generations Project is an initiative to expand ministry and outreach in the Ozark Mountains of Southern Missouri region.  In effect, to bring healing and restoration to generational poverty, abuse, drug addiction, family violence and unhealthy addictions through what Jesus has done on the cross.  To introduce Jesus into the homes of every family.  To challenge every believer to love, live and pursue Jesus.  The Generations Project is an initiative of Crosspoint Church of Ava Missouri to transform the region.

The Generations Project Initiative will expand Crosspoint Church’s outreach and influence through the expansion of facilities and ministries.  The expansion of its facilities and ministries will provide the church and community with a more robust outreach program  in and throughout the community.

A Look At The Mission Field

So often we look at the mission field as a far away, distant, third world country.   Nothing is further from the truth.  There are pockets of mission fields all across the United States.  The Ozark Mountains of Southern Missouri is one of these pockets.  Crosspoint Church of Ava Missouri serves the mission field of Douglas County and its surrounding region.  Some statistics to think about:

  • Missouri Ranked in top 10 for Drug and Alcohol Abuse Nationally, Southern Missouri Significantly contributing to this ranking.
  • Missouri ranked 3rd in domestic violence with the Southern Missouri Area reporting high levels of domestic violence.
  • Higher risk of financial instability in and around our city and county, with an estimated median household income of  approximately $44,722.
  • The suicide rate is approximately 33% higher in Southern Missouri rural areas than that of urban areas, largely due to limited access to mental health resources and socioeconomic stress.

What does this limited snapshot of the mission field mean?  In short, there is a significant need for faith-based interventions–to share the gospel, to help families in need, to provide resources and faith-based alternatives.

The Generations Project Mission

To share the gospel.  To introduce Jesus into the homes of every family.  To challenge every believer to love, live and pursue Jesus.  To transform the lost and hurting for “Generations” to come!

The Generations Project Vision

The Generations Project is a faith-driven initiative to expand the facilities and ministries of Crosspoint Church–to intentionally invest in future generations–to create space and ministries where children, youth, and families can encounter Jesus, grow in truth, and be equipped to carry the gospel, for generations to come.

This expansion isn’t only about facilities.  It’s about ensuring that every generation has room to belong, hear the Word, and experience the life-changing power of Christ.

  • “To go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation” (Southern Missouri) (Mark 16:15)
  • “To be the light of the world” (our mission field), “a city on the hill” (our cities): (Matthew 5:14-16)
  • To introduce people to the God that “heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”  (Psalms 147:3)
  • To spread the good news of Jesus so that “they may have life, and have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)
  • To create spiritual wealth, in Jesus, for generations to come. (Matthew 6:19–21)

Crosspoint Church’s Core Beliefs

We believe that the Church Universal is the Body of Christ, the fellowship of all believers, and that its members have been called out from the world to come under the dominion and authority of Christ its head. We believe that a local church is a fellowship of Christians, a part of the body of Christ, voluntarily banded together for worship, nurture, and service.  The Generations Project is an extension of these Core Beliefs

Expansion of Ministries and Facility Needs

In recent years we have witnessed an outpouring of God’s spirit on the mission field in which we live.  Specifically, our city, county, and surrounding areas.  With this outpouring we have experienced significant growth in numbers and ministry opportunities.  This growth has created a need to expand ministries and facilities to keep up with this outpouring of God’s blessing.  We believe God will make a way.

How Can You Help

Our growth has taught us one inevitable truth, we need help with the expansion of the  ministries and facilities of Crosspoint Church–The Generations Project.   We are reaching out in and beyond our community to partner with individuals and organizations that have a desire to extend their missionary efforts and who are willing to further God’s kingdom in rural Missouri.

As we expand our ministries and missionary reach we have the need to expand our facilities.  In doing so we are trusting that God will provide all of our needs (Philippians 4:19) through the prompting of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers that have the resources, both in, around, and outside our community.  In short, we need help.

If you feel led to partner with us, there are four meaningful ways to contribute:
